Let me start off by saying we, Miamian's, don't do well in the cold. But I decided to visit my sister in Boston during the beginning of February 2016 for her birthday (I'm amazing, I know). Although, I should of been dying from the cold, I was loving every minute of it. It was my first time seeing snow and something about being somewhere different from Miami was exciting all together.
My trip was short, but very sweet. I did the typical tourist stuff, but five places stood out to me:
1. Boston Public Library
It was too dim lighted to take a decent picture with my iPhone, but wow was this library beautiful. Right in the heart of Boston, you can access it easily if taking the train and admission is free. You get lost admiring the artwork and New England architecture.

Alright, so this is not the Library. But its the view from it, so it kinda counts. |
2. Fairmont Copley Plaza
Ok, so I didn't stay inside the hotel, but the plaza in front was sooooo fun! Please note: not in the "whats there to do?" sense, but in the "so much snow I'm going to build a snowman" sense lol! Shout out to my poor sister for being a sport and taking my picture, she was beyond embarrassed.
3. Boston College
My sister's Alma Mater is such a beautiful campus! Although I didn't take amazing pictures when I visited in February, below is also one from my visit in May, when she graduated. Boston in the spring is truly the best time to visit. You'd never want to stay indoors, but I must digress.

4. Brown Sugar Cafe
Thai restaurant by Chestnut Hill with an extensive menu; you really can't go wrong here. Its perfect for large groups, family, date night, or in my case, with my sister. FYI, ask them to sing happy birthday to you or your friends, you'll be in for a treat! Check out their reviews

5. Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
By far my favorite place ever, ever, ever, in Boston! Built after the death of her husband, American socialite Isabella Stewart commissioned to built the museum to house all the artwork she and her late husband had collected together (and art work she kept collecting).
Nothing truly spectacular from the outside, but the inside... omg the inside. I've never been inside such a stunning museum! Modeled after the Palazzo Barbaro in Venice, you're able to see the garden on the first floor from wherever you are inside the museum.

P.S. Did you hear about the art robbery in 1990 where two thieves disguised themselves as cops and stole 13 pieces of art that included Vermeer and Rembrandt? That was here!!! Today frames stand in homage to the missing art work in hopes to have them back in the museum.
